Horley Infant School has developed excellent links with the local community, businesses and the wider world, for the benefit of the school and the children themselves. We have enjoyed sponsorship, consultation and volunteers from a wide range of businesses, including: Andrew Lyon, Barclaycard, Brace and Oakley, British Airport Authority, Burstow Nursery, Cadbury Schweppes, Canada Maritime, Collingwood and Batchelor, Cowdray Park, Dave Dove, Esure, Hilton Hotels, HiQ Tyres, KPMG, Lions Security, Lloyds Bank, Loseley Park, Mitchells’, Pfizer, Planet Sweet, Sainsbury, South East Water Authority, Sweetpea Florists, Tesco, Twinnings, Virgin Atlantic, Waitrose, White and Sons.
Horley Infant School has always recognised the significance that the International Dimension has on our pupils. It has gradually evolved to become a fundamental and integral part of our school ethos which enhances pupil understanding and empathy for other cultures and traditions. Bringing the world into our classrooms has created a new and exciting perspective to our children. We feel fortunate to have found such a rich and varied knowledge that can enrich our pupils to become worthwhile citizens of the future.
We have been recognised through the British Council and have been awarded the International School Award. Our links with other countries; Spain, Germany and especially a school in Lesotho have added a different dimension to our children’s learning and awareness of our world.
As quoted in the recent OFSTED report: Horley Infant School “opens doors for its pupils to step through and meet the real world.”
