David Powell has been a local town councillor since 2007 and has been serving as a governor at Horley Infant School for 18 months.
He and his wife moved to Horley some six years ago to “retire” but David continues to undertake some consultancy projects in the waste industry. He spent 22 years in the Army and the next 30 years in the waste business and it is this experience that he wishes to bring to the town council and also Horley Infant School. He also enjoys gardening, racing his greyhounds and is a member of a local church. His son is married and lives in Chicago with his two grandsons.
